Nemera highlights obligation to provide life-saving devices to most vulnerable – including the elderly, asthmatics, diabetics

PRESS RELEASE

In its COVID-19 press update, Nemera has highlighted its obligation to provide life-saving devices to most vulnerable – including the elderly, asthmatics, diabetics and others suffering from chronic diseases. The full announcement follows:

The last few weeks have been truly challenging for all of us with the global spread of COVID-19. With governments and health authorities implementing radical safety measures, schools trying to maintain teaching from a distance and companies venturing into new ways to ensure business continuity – none of us imagined we would have to live through times like these.

The most vulnerable populations to COVID 19 are elderly people and those who suffer from chronic diseases such as diabetes and asthma. Therefore, continuing production is not an option but an obligation for us to provide life-saving devices.

At Nemera, we are responding to the COVID-19 pandemic by ensuring continuity of our operations for patients and safety of our employees.

We all know that the most vulnerable populations to COVID 19 are elderly people and those who suffer from chronic diseases such as diabetes and asthma. Therefore, continuing production is not an option but an obligation for us to provide life-saving devices to these patients. Our manufacturing teams are working relentlessly and going the extra mile to maintain production so that patients have access to these critical devices.

Our people are our biggest asset and their safety is critical. With this in mind, we are complying closely with the local health authorities across the Nemera sites and have implemented work from home, telecommunication and other safety measures. We are monitoring and updating our internal policies according to their recommendations. We, Nemera, are strongly connected even in adverse situations.

Last but not the least, we are taking our duty of containing the coronavirus seriously and remain just as committed to our purpose of putting patients first.
